Union-based labour law has been a cornerstone of Martin Whalen Hennebury Stamp. We maintain one of the largest union-representation practices in the province, covering both skilled and unskilled trades and occupations and representing international, national, and provincial trade unions.

Our lawyers can offer advice on the collective bargaining process, the judicial review of tribunal decisions and arbitration awards and can respond to all disputes that may arise in the labour relations arena. We regularly appear before the Newfoundland and Labrador Labour Relations Board, the Canada Industrial Relations Board, and various provincial arbitration panels. Additionally, our labour lawyers often sit on arbitration panels as nominees of grievors.

We also represent non-unionized employees who may have disputes with current or former employers, including claims for wrongful dismissal.
